The Gospel of Jesus Christ clearly and repeatedly declares God's love for all people, His intense longing and desire that all should repent and come to the knowledge of the truth! Muhammad's dying words (Bukhari 59:727) are a bit different in tone: “Allah's curse be on the Jews and on the Christians.” What has been referred to as a religion of peace by our current president has been responsible for over 16,000 attacks worldwide since 9-11-01! 

Instead of merely burning books (and I do not suggest burning anyone's religious reading materials), “devout” [some would say extremist or fundamentalist] Muslims have killed, blown up, and/or burned: heterodox Muslims; atheists; Buddhists; Christians; Hindus; civilian aid workers; men; women; and children all over the world. 

Women, take heart? Although the Qur'an is quite clear that women make up most of the occupants of hell, the Hadith that considers 99% of women hell-bound is considered weak (Kanz al-'ummal 22:10). The Qur'an also has strict rules on how husbands should beat their wives: nothing longer than a short billy-club may be used; no over-hand strokes are allowed; broken bones, teeth, and obvious scars are to be avoided. Men who wish to divorce any of their wives of any ages must stand up and repeat 3 full times while turning around, “I divorce you!” Honor killings of any females in the family or extended family are only practiced when a responsible male in the family considers an offense against family honor or Islam has occurred. 

Christianity's Holy Book says, “Love the Lord our God with all our heart and soul and strength and mind” and “love your neighbors as yourselves” (Luke 10:25-29).  “Husbands love your wives as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for it…love your wives as your own bodies…as you love yourselves (Ephesians 5:25-28”  God's overwhelming love for us in Christ Jesus even moves us to love and pray for our enemies (Matthew 5:43-48).

Do not burn the Qur'an, but don't get burned by it either. Check out www.thereligionofpeace.com and other web sites to see what historically happens when Islam reaches critical mass in a country. Know what you're talking about from God's Word so that you may answer the faulty claims and counter-claims being thrown so freely about in the media and, perhaps, around the water-cooler!
