There is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, Christ the Lord! The messenger from God told the shepherds good news of great joy which shall be for all people. On this Christmas Eve, I hope and pray that you know you need saving and that you know that One and Only Savior God has provided. Rejoice, in Him there is full and free forgiveness for all of your sins, eternal life, and salvation! Believe it! Check out everything in God's Word, but don't stop there.
This year invite someone along to church to hear the Good News. Pray for someone you know. Start with the nicest person you know who doesn't yet trust in Christ, but don't stop there. (Niceness doesn't earn anyone a spot in heaven, only God's grace in Christ Jesus gives eternal life and that free gift must be received by faith.) Tell all whom you invite what Jesus means to you and follow up so that when the Holy Spirit leads them to know they need saving, the love of Christ may flow from you into their hearts. The shepherds were overjoyed at the Good News and told everyone. Let's follow their example and support our efforts with prayer to the Son of God and Eternal Savior Whose birth we celebrate! Then the Holy Spirit can change people's eternal destinies through the Gospel.
