Earthquakes, tsunamis, tornadoes, wars, unemplyment, personal tragedy in one's close circle of friends–it's enough to make you throw up your hands in dismay. What can we do when the economy, forces of nature, warring armies, even our own crumbling bodies are beyond our control? The LORD, the God of promise and fulfillment inspired the Psalmist to write (in Psalm 138:7-8): “Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life; you stretch out your hand against the anger of my foes, with your right hand you save me. The LORD will fulfill [his purpose] for me; your love, O LORD, endures forever!” God has an eternal agenda for each of us and He is never too forgetful, weak, tired, lazy, or heartless to get around to fulfilling it. We see in the cross of Jesus Christ how far He was willing to go to accomplish His purpose: to save you! Believe it! May the LORD's gracious agenda for you make your good days wonderful, your bad days better, and your worst days tolerable! Your love, O LORD, endures forever!
