After 100 hours tavelling by car, plane, train, cab, foot, etc. in the previous three weeks, arriving home for my mom's lengthy surgery, and the exhaustion that comes with it, I was joyfully greeting members and visitors on the way out of church after our Mother's Day service. “I stopped going to church awhile ago,” one out of town visitor said as she left the sanctuary, “but the music and message made me want to come back again.”
That little gem was a real gift for me and a reminder to keep sharing the message of God's love in Christ and praying that His Spirit enables the hearers to hang onto the Word even after the messenger is gone.
