It never ceases to amaze me how many people are in love with the concept of a religious leader like Pope Francis or Cardinal Cupich, for example. They will say things like, “He's such a nice man!” or “So genuine and loving!” and imply a sense of respect and honor.
When asked, “Do you believe what he does about sexual immorality, the counterfeiting of marriage, or the rights of the not-yet born?” They will scoff as if to say, “I'm not daft! Of course I disagree and reject his authority on a whole host of issues.”
As we near the end of the church year, we are reminded that heaven is real and so is hell and a real Judge will really return with all His holy angels to really judge all living and dead people. All who trust in Christ Jesus as their Savior will be saved. Those whose appreciation of a smattering of religious dress and poster children falls short of saving faith will find a real eternity in a real hell.
Thank Christ our King for dying on the cross to save the whole world, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life!
