Some of us have a great sense of direction–almost an internal GPS–but all of us have taken a wrong turn from time to time. Even our GPS gets confused on Lower Wacker, in some parking garages, tunnels, and new construction. While hiking to “Angels' Landing” and “Hidden Canyon” in Zion National Park recently, my wife and I were careful to follow the maps and to heed the warnings concerning the dangers of flash floods. In Glacier National Park we followed the ranger's warnings not to pet the grizzlies and at the National Bison Range and in Yellowstone we were careful not to try to pet the “buffalo.”
Palm Sunday, however, gives us the picture of a brilliant man (omniscient, really) who even knew the future willingly riding into the one city in the whole world that He knew would lead to His brutal death by crucifixion! Jesus deliberately rode into Jerusalem, rode into unimaginable trouble, to save us from our sins. That's how much He loves you!
