My wife and I recently toured some tightly packed shops in Chinatown. The aisles were crowded with all sorts of what my daughter used to call “miscangelous” stuff. Wading through to find a jade carving, wall-hanging, or oriental chest and noting the prices, I could only hope we would not live out the “You break it, you bought it!” warning on the walls. Thankfully we made it through several stores without breaking anything, even our budget.
Typhoon Haiyan, the Illinois tornadoes, the “Fast and Furious” traffic death, New York train derailment, wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and so much more remind us that we live in a fallen, broken, dying world. Thanks to all of God's people who helped restore a portion of it through our “Operation Smile” and “Women at Risk” fundraisers. Thanks to everyone who has given to aid the victims in the Philippines and Illinois! God promises that through His Gift of our Lord and Savior, creation will be restored. They will neither harm nor destroy any more! Praise God, look forward to the day that is fulfilled perfectly as the Lord God Almighty restores what we cannot, and serve the Lord with gladness as you do what you can to help fix what Satan and our fallen world have broken.
