At a recent Bible study I announced that my wife and I would be travelling half-way around the world to visit our grandchildren. “It's a good thing you're going now,” shared one of the ladies. “Yes, we still have time on our visas and that'll save us a few hundred dollars and our tickets are the result of special offers, saving us thousands more.”
“I mean it's a good time you're going now, because I read that some airlines are starting to charge by weight,” she continued with a wry smile.
“Thanks for sharing,” I thought, because it gave me a nice opening for this missive and my sermon. Some things are actually quite difficult to share and usually we want to hoard the best stuff (think chocolate bunnies vs. petrified “Peeps” in Easter baskets). How wonderful of God to accept Jesus' sacrifice on the cross as the payment in full for the sin-guilt of all mankind. How glorious that Jesus rose from the dead, victorious over death and the devil! And how gracious of Him to share that victory with everyone who trusts Him!!! That sharing makes an eternal difference. Whether or not you share much of your Easter candy, be sure to share Christ's Easter victory!
